Black Friday 2026 filament deals: how to stock up without wasting money
Black Friday in 3D printing started early this year. Prusa's sale opened on October 22, and Bambu Lab's main sale begins today, October 27. If you print for fun, it's a chance to try new materials. If you sell prints, it's the best time of year to lower your cost per part before the holiday rush. Here is what's on offer so far and how to shop it without wasting money.
What the big two are offering
- Prusa (Oct 22 to Nov 30): Printer prices aren't cut. Instead, printers come with extras like filament, a drybox, the OpenPrintTag reader or an extra year of warranty. The filament deals are the real discount: 30% off 2 kg Prusament PLA and PETG spools, 20% off 1 kg PLA and PETG, up to 40% off selected PC Blend and PVB, and up to 25% off TPU95 and other advanced materials. Orders are capped at 30 spools, and shipping is free over $200.
- Bambu Lab (Oct 27 to Dec 1): People who signed up during the warm-up week get coupons worth up to an extra $30. Bambu is also selling mystery filament bundles. The PETG mystery pack is $38.99 and has a 99% chance of holding four spools and a 1% chance of seven. That's about $9.75 a spool in the normal case, but you don't pick the colors.
Stock up on what you actually burn through
For a print seller, the right buy is the material and color you already use every week. Look at your last two months of orders and count spools. Discounted filament only saves money if it gets used before it goes stale, so buy roughly what you'd use by the end of winter, not a year's supply.
The 2 kg Prusament spools are worth a look if your printer and dry box can hold them. Fewer spool swaps means fewer failed overnight jobs. Mystery bundles are better for prototypes, gifts and personal projects than for products where a buyer picked a specific color.
Plan for storage before you buy
A pile of cheap spools can turn into a pile of wet spools. PETG and TPU soak up moisture fast, and we covered the warning signs in our wet filament guide. If you're buying in bulk, budget for airtight bins, desiccant and a dryer. New options keep showing up: eSun just announced the eBox Plus, a four-spool dryer that heats to 80°C and lists at $149.99 in the U.S., though it was out of stock at launch. Note that it dries four spools of the same material at a time.
Maybe wait on a new printer
Bambu Lab has teased the H3C, a tool changer with a front rack holding nine tools. All3DP reads the teaser as pointing to November 3, but Bambu hasn't confirmed a date, price or build volume. If a multi-material machine is on your list, it costs nothing to wait a week and see what it is before committing to a sale bundle.
Update your prices after you buy
Cheaper filament changes your margins. Once your order arrives, run your best sellers through the pricing calculator with the new cost per kilogram. You can keep your listing prices the same and pocket the difference, or use the room for a holiday discount of your own.
